Contemporary Kitchen

This design was all built around that pressed tin. My client saw the pressed tin and fell in love and we built the kitchen around them. Even though pressed tin is a very traditional element often found in older homes they wanted a modern contemporary kitchen, something that was not too fussy but still packed an impact. It was a relatively small space but we utilised every inch for storage. The upper cupboards are a white galaxy gloss from Dezignatek and have a subtle shimmer in the light, the lower cabinets are all in black matt and ground the kitchen well against the original rimu flooring. This home is set on Summerhill in Palmerston North and looks out onto a beautiful view, the island is perfectly appointed to watch the day go by. The pressed tin just brings everything together and gives that bit of texture that the simple black and white pallet needs. This kitchen was the winner of the 'First Time Entrant' Award at the Kitchen Studio Awards in 2020.
